Starting a consultation
You launch the consultation room directly from the appointment detail page.- Open the appointment you want to consult on by clicking it in the calendar or table view.
- On the appointment detail page, click the Start Consult button in the action bar at the bottom of the page.
- Prvaha issues a secure access token for the session and opens the consultation room in full screen within the dashboard.
Inviting guests to a consultation
Doctors and admins can generate a guest invite link from the appointment detail page. Anyone with the link can request to join the consultation room — they do not need a Prvaha account. When a guest requests to join, the doctor receives a prompt in the consultation room to approve or deny the request. Approved guests are admitted to the call; denied requests are immediately turned away. Invite links expire after 24 hours, and generating a new link automatically revokes any previous one.Video consultation
The consultation room provides low-latency, high-quality video and audio powered by an integrated real-time media platform. When the session starts:- The doctor sees the patient’s video feed, controls for their own camera and microphone, and the messaging panel on the right side of the screen.
- The patient joins through a secure link shared with them at booking. They see the doctor’s video feed and the same messaging panel.
- Both participants can toggle their camera and microphone on or off at any time during the session using the controls at the bottom of the video panel.
Messaging during consultation
A real-time chat panel is available alongside the video feed throughout the consultation. Either participant can send text messages at any point during the session. This is useful for:- Sharing links to lab results, referral forms, or patient education resources during the visit.
- Communicating when audio is temporarily disrupted.
- Leaving notes that both parties can refer back to after the session ends.
Recording a consultation
Doctors can record a consultation session directly from the consultation room. Only one recording can be active at a time per appointment.- Click Start Recording to begin capturing the session.
- Click Stop Recording to end the recording. The file is saved to the appointment automatically.
- Recorded sessions can be listed and downloaded from the Transcription tab on the appointment detail page.
Recording is available to doctors and admins only. Patients cannot start or stop a recording.
AI transcription
Prvaha can automatically transcribe consultation audio and generate a structured clinical summary using AI. The summary is written in plain language from the patient’s perspective, making it easy to share directly with the patient or attach to their record. The AI-generated summary includes:- Chief complaint — the primary reason for the visit.
- History of present illness — a brief narrative of the presenting condition.
- Assessment — the doctor’s clinical assessment or working diagnosis.
- Medications — drug name, dosage, frequency, duration, and administration instructions for each medication discussed.
- Investigations — any labs, imaging, or tests ordered during the visit.
- Instructions — lifestyle advice, precautions, or care instructions for the patient.
- Follow-up — the follow-up plan, if one was mentioned.
- Summary — a 2–4 sentence plain-language overview the patient can easily understand.
Completing a consultation
When the clinical conversation is finished, close the consultation room and return to the appointment detail page to wrap up the visit.- Advance the appointment status — use the transition button on the appointment detail page to move the appointment to Ready for Billing (or the next stage in your clinic’s workflow). This signals to your billing team that the clinical work is done.
- Generate documents — if a prescription or referral letter is required, use the Documents section on the appointment detail page to create and download a PDF. Prvaha can also email the prescription directly to the patient as an attachment.
- Finalise the transcript — if you used AI transcription, confirm the summary is accurate and save it to the patient record.
